O’KEEFE TOPS FIELD OF 102 TO WIN PBA SOUTHWEST NON-CHAMPIONS TITLE
Shannon O’Keefe of Arlington, Texas, is the fifth woman to win a PBA Regional tour event after defeating Michael Bowser of Cypress, Texas, 245-161, in the title match of the PBA Southwest Non-Champions’ Challenge at Del-Mar Lanes in Houston on Feb. 7.
While PBA tour titles are not awarded in non-champion events, O’Keefe did top a male-dominated field of 102 players in Houston. The four women who have won regular PBA Regional titles are Liz Johnson of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; Kelly Kulick of Union, N.J.; Missy Bellinder of Fullerton, Calif. (two); and Jodi Woessner of Oregon, Ohio.
